I had to take lots of song lyrics out of Fishnet before I handed the finished manuscript in, as song lyrics cost a LOT to publish. Some songs about sex work; some songs about love and loneliness and missing someone and fancying girls and looking for something. Anyway, I’ve put together a Spotify playlist (15 songs, takes about an hour) with some of the tunes that inspired me (and a couple I heard after the final edit that just seemed to fit). It’s loosely chronological, and almost all female artists (the exception being Queen’s Killer Queen, which is obviously Camilla’s theme song…). Have a listen:
