There’s an interview with me (about Fishnet) and the blimming great Laura Lee in the Sunday Mail today. It’s a good piece, but I want to clarify a couple of things that have probably come out in the subedit (the journalist herself was spot on with her understanding of the issues):
1.) I said I thought “the sex industry” was seedy and terrible *before I began researching it*, not the women themselves.
2.) I didn’t say “some of the blogs made me sick” – I was talking about the misogynistic language used on sex worker review forums by punters.
3.) I didn’t refer to sex workers as “prostitutes”.
4.) I would call for decriminalisation – sex work is already legal.
ETA: Changes now made in the online version. The journalist is a total star and moved very quickly to make the corrections.
